Ridgway Colorado Concert Series

Ridgway Concert Series Lineup

The ninth season of The Ridgway Concert Series begins this year on July 7, 2016! The fun continues every Thursday evening through July 28th. The five show music series is free to the public and features top notch national acts. The events are family-friendly and include a children’s activities area. Expect great views, great music and lots of dancing. Great food and microbrew beer will be available. The audience is welcome to bring lawn chairs, blankets, coolers and picnics. Please note, no glass is allowed in the park. The Ridgway Concert Series is presented by the Town of Ridgway and funded entirely by community sponsors, fundraisers and donations. The on-site beer sales, featuring a variety of micro-brews from local breweries, also help fund the series.

After the Show: Each night starting at 10pm, after the concert in the park, the opening act will play at the Sherbino Theater, just two blocks from the main stage. The cover is $5 and there is a full bar at the theater. This is the place to be (and be seen) after the show!

Michael McCullough’s Annual Amateur Scupting Contest in Ridgway

Sunday, June 12. Presented by John Billings and Weehawken Creative Arts
Now in its fourth year, the Ridgway Amateur Sculpture Contest attracts amateur sculptors as young as 14 from across the Western Slope of Colorado to sculpt five pounds of clay into a masterpiece in just two hours; a panel of professional artists determines the winners and awards hefty cash prizes. In honor of Michael McCullough, John Billings, together with Weehawken Creative Arts will present The 4th Annual Ridgway Amateur Sculpting Contest on Sunday, June 12th. Artist Check-in will run from Noon until 1 pm at the Ridgway Community Center (Town Hall). The contest will run from 1 pm until 3 pm. The public is welcome to silently observe during the 2 hour creation period. There will be a one-hour break for judging, followed by an awards ceremony reception, starting at 4:00 pm.

32nd Annual Ridgway Rendezvous Arts and Crafts Festival

Presented by Weehawken Creative Arts (August 13 & 14)

In it’s 32nd year, the Ridgway Rendezvous offers both artists and patrons a well organized, quality show.  We are known for one of  the most picturesque locations for booth set-up and for shoppers in our spacious town park and for successful sales for our vendors.  The Rendezvous is a juried show with a commitment to quality.

The show is attended by several thousand customers and is hailed by many of our regular participants as “one of their best shows of the year”.   The organizers offer live musical entertainment all day both days of the show and several attractions are geared specifically to children.  The event is fun for the whole family and there is no admission charge.  We hope to see you this summer!

The Ridgway Rendezvous Arts and Crafts Festival is hosted and sponsored by Weehawken Creative Arts with Kentee Pasek as the Creative Director for the Event.  Funds raised at this event help support Weehawken Creative Arts Youth Art Programs.

Open to the public on Saturday, August 13th from 9 am until 5 pm and on Sunday, August 14th from 10 am until 5 pm at Ridgway’s Town Park (Hartwell Park).  More information at:

2016 Ouray County’s Annual Fork Fest

August 19 & 20. Ouray County Fork Fest Presented by Weehawken Creative Arts in Partnership with the Ridgway Farmer’s Market and the Ridgway Creative District 

Throughout a delicious weekend in August, foodies from near and far delight in rediscovering all the edible bounty that Ouray and the greater Uncompahgre Valley have to offer, and learn new ways to prepare it for friends and family at home.

Ouray County Fork Fest is presented by Weehawken Creative Arts in partnership with the Ouray Chamber Resort Association, Ridgway Farmer’s Market, the Ridgway Creative District and the Town of Ridgway.

2016 Preliminary Event Schedule is as follows:

Friday, August 19, 2016

  • All day in both Ridgway and Ouray:  Culinary Workshops and Classes through Weehawken Creative Arts (topics, locations and prices vary)
  • Ridgway Farmer’s Market 10 am – 3 pm at Ridgway Town Park
  • Live Chef Demonsrations 10 am – 4 pm at Ridgway Town Park (adjacent to the Farmer’s Market at the Blue Hungry Hart Cafe, lower level)
  • Regional Brews Tasting on the Chef Demo Rooftop 12 pm – 4 pm at Ridgway Town Park (on the rooftop of the blue Hungry Hart Cafe)
  • BBQ Demonstrations (as scheduled between 11 am and 3 pm) on the rooftop of the blue Hungry Hart Cafe at Ridgway Town Park
  • Annual Fork Fest Restaurant Crawl in Ouray (Ouray Downtown from 5 pm – 9 pm).  Tickets available in June on this page.  $35/person.

  • (Tentative)  Gather your Farm Produce for your “Farm to Table Community Potluck” Dish at the 2nd Day Farmers Market at Ridgway Town Park 10 am – 2 pm
  • Live Chef Demonstrations 10 am – 2 pm at Ridgway Town Park (adjacent to the special edition farmer’s market at the Blue Hungry Hart Cafe, lower level)
  • Regional Brews and tasting on the Chef Demo Rooftop 11 am – 2 pm at Ridgway Town Park (on the rooftop of the blue Hungry Hart Cafe)
  • 5 pm – 8 pm:  Ridgway Creative District Presents Ridgway’s Farm to Table “Community Potluck Dinner” at Ridgway Town Park (bring a dish to share using farm fresh items from our local market or gardens) and enjoy live music and wine sampling from regional wineries.

2016 4th Annual Fiber Arts Festival

The 4th Annual Sneffels Fiber Art Festival Presented by Weehawken Creative Arts (September 24 & 25) 

The 4th Annual SNEFFELS FIBER FESTIVAL will be held on September 24 & 25,  2016.   This event will be held at the 4-H Events Center, a 5,000 square-foot state of the art facility located at the intersection of Hwys. 550 and 62 at the Ouray County Fairgrounds in Ridgway.

Ridgway is the gateway  to the beautiful San Juan Mountains  – a short distance from Montrose, Ouray and Telluride.  Ridgway has been identified and designated as an official Creative District by the State of Colorado.  It is an important town on the San Juan Highway, the most beautiful and popular tourist route in Colorado.

In addition to the fiber artists and vendors, the event will also include free demonstrations offered on both Saturday and Sunday.   More intensive workshops will be offered over the course of the weekend.

The Annual Sneffels Fiber Festival is made possible largely by the enthusiastic festival volunteers.  This festival is unique, focusing on quality fiber arts, clothing and materials.

Western Film Heritage Walking Tours Now Available!

The captivating beauty of Ridgway, Ouray and surrounding areas has attracted a number of production companies making movies, documentaries and commercials. More than 100 films have been made in Southwestern Colorado. Take the Walking Tour.


Classics filmed in the San Juans include True Grit (1968),  Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid (1969), Around the World in 80 Days (1956), Night Passage (1957), and Ticket to Tomahawk (1950). In addition, another John Wayne classic, The Sons of Katie Elder (1965) was based on the lives of George and Charley Marlow, who lived in who lived in the Ridgway area for many years and served as deputy sheriffs and town marshals.

Ridgway Fall Fest: September 20th


Ridgway, Colorado (August 30th, 2014) The Ridgway Fall Festival will be concert enthusiasts’ last opportunity for the season to enjoy music on Ridgway’s stage and to enjoy BBQ and brews from five local breweries.

The event will take place in Ridgway’s Hartwell Park on Saturday, September 20th from 2pm-7pm.

Featuring music from two bands, the Cranks and Bonewagon, attendees will be able to sample creative brews from Ska, Steamworks, Colorado Boy, Horsefly and New Belgium Brewing. Food will be provided by the Welded Elephant and Taco Del Gnar.
