The Arts: Sherbino Theater – All Things Happening!
The local citizens’ group, the Ridgway Chautauqua Society, was formed to save, revitalize and operate the 99 year-old Sherbino theater as a nonprofit community center for theater, film, and the performing arts. Ridgway Concert Series: Music in the Park
Music in the Park: The ninth season of The Ridgway Concert Series begins this year on July 7, 2016! The fun continues every Thursday evening through July 28th. The five show music series is free to the public and features top notch national acts. The events are family-friendly and include a children’s activities area. Expect great views, great music and lots of dancing. Great food and microbrew beer will be available. The audience is welcome to bring lawn chairs, blankets, coolers and picnics. Please note, no glass is allowed in the park. The Ridgway Concert Series is presented by the Town of Ridgway and funded entirely by community sponsors, fundraisers and donations. The on-site beer sales, featuring a variety of micro-brews from local breweries, also help fund the series.

- July 28 – Jenny and the Mexicats & I Draw Slow
After the Show: Each night starting at 10pm, after the concert in the park, the opening act will play at the Sherbino Theater, just two blocks from the main stage. The cover is $5 and there is a full bar at the theater. This is the place to be (and be seen) after the show!
Radio: All five Ridgway concerts will be broadcast live on KVNF Community Radio (90.9, 89.1, 88.9 FM) beginning at 7pm, and will be streaming live on the web at www.kvnf.org. Pickin’ Productions also produces two other series, The Mountain Air Music Series in Ouray (Thursdays in June) and Pickin’ in the Park in Paonia (Thursdays in August). All twelve concerts are broadcast live on KVNF.
Ridgway Creative District: A Treasure Chest of Inspiration
Walking through the town of Ridgway, you will see the unique and lively arts related assets which have earned the town a Creative District designation. Creative Districts are defined areas that include arts/cultural assets and non-profit as well as for-profit creative businesses, usually within easy walking distances.
Our trails, parks, and alleys feature locally made sculptures, murals and public art. Discover the 11 amazing sculptures scattered throughout the Town of Ridgway, and experience the joy of finding more hidden gems on your own… Look for “Brandy” the St. Bernard, a sneaky red fox and 3 eagles from as small as real life size up to the 21’ wing span of the American Bald eagle that graces the Weaver Memorial Park.
Ridgway’s shops and galleries are also filled with one-of a-kind items made right here in Ridgway. We hope you will take the time to explore and enjoy our town.
