2020 Youth Career & Volunteer Fair

Connecting Ridgway youth with real world opportunities

The Ridgway Secondary School, 1200 Green St., Ridgway, CO 81432, will host a youth summer job and volunteering fair from 11:20 a.m. to 12:20 p.m. on Wednesday, April 29, where up to 30 local nonprofit organizations and businesses will be able to meet middle and high school students.

The purpose of the fair is for companies and nonprofits to introduce local youth to jobs, internships and volunteer assignments, as well as share information about their business and nonprofit missions. Each company or organization will be provided with half of a table to set their information on, and will have 30 minutes with middle school students followed by 30 minutes with high school students.

Each company or nonprofit will be share an eight-foot table with one other, and each will get two chairs. You are encouraged to bring displays, banners, brochures, signup sheets, and whatever will fit on or around the table to help you share your message with students and get them excited about working or volunteering for you. We are expecting up to 95 high school students and 85 middle school students will attend the fair.

This event is co-sponsored by the Ridgway Area Chamber of Commerce. Please register for fair participation by April 17. Businesses and nonprofits that are not chamber members will pay a fee of $20, while the Ridgway Chamber will pay the fee for all chamber members. Click here for information about chamber membership.
