Kane Scheidegger Fine Art Photography recognized as December 2021 RACC Member of the Month

Kane Scheidegger Fine Art Photography is being recognized as the December 2021 Ridgway Area Chamber of Commerce (RACC) Member of the Month. This RACC program is an ongoing effort to provide the community and visitors with information about local businesses and organizations and promote shopping in the local area.

What was your path to your specialty in photography?

I became interested in photography during art school and incorporated it into my graphic arts and advertising business from 2006 to 2012. I transitioned to a full-time fine art photographer in 2012. I started shooting large-scale, panoramic images of the mountains and extreme ski descents because the composition would not lend itself to a single-frame capture. I wanted to bring scale and life to the images, which led to printing large-scale works.

What is your artistic vision?

The artistic vision behind my work is to show people the beauty of nature through unique perspectives, with an emphasis on composition, light, color and uniqueness in the scene. During the summer and fall, I photograph landscapes mostly in the color spectrum and during the winter and spring I transition to being a ski photographer, shooting extreme ski descents and producing works mostly in black and white.

What are your gallery’s products and services?

My gallery offers fine art photography of the American Southwest (mountains to the desert), ranging from small, matted prints to large-scale art installations. I work closely with clients and offer custom sizing to make sure the artwork stands out in the setting. I also offer fine art printing services.

Where are your photographs displayed?

I have been fortunate enough to showcase my work in homes around the world including Canada, Mexico, Colombia, Australia, France and Spain. I also have work displayed in office spaces, hospitals, hotels, and galleries, including Grand Valley Oncology Center and the Four Corners Cancer Center.

What would you like more people to know about you or your business?

I would like people to know that you don’t have to have a huge house or wall to enjoy my work; I offer numerous smaller-scale prints.

Do you have any special plans or events coming up?

I will be offering special discounts during the Noel Night holiday event on Friday, December 3 from 4 to 8 p.m. in Ridgway. I will be offering lots of different sized images this holiday from 12-inch by 18-inch matted prints, 12-inch by 12-inch canvas gallery wraps and 36-inch canvas gallery wraps up to large-format custom artwork.

What do you value from being a Ridgway Chamber member?

I value the Ridgway Chamber for helping promote my business. The chamber has connected me with other local businesses who benefit from my services. The chamber offers a number of different ways to help promote my work through its website, yearly visitor guide, email blasts, special events, and more.
