COVID-19 Resources & Visitor Information

Last updated: January 17, 2022

The world community continues coping with continuing challenges as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. With the ever-changing situation, impacting each state and town in different ways, local policies and restrictions vary greatly. Even within the Ridgway area, public health precautions are not consistent from place to place and week to week. So, the best way to prepare for a visit is to check out the information resources in the right margin of this page. We also recommend you visit individual websites for each business and organization where you plan to visit. In some cases, a phone call may be the most effective way to get updated information such as operating hours and mask requirements.

Traveling to Ridgway

Ridgway businesses and surrounding outdoor recreation opportunities are open. However, visitors are strongly urged to adhere to state, county and town guidelines to keep our community safe.

Ouray County is requiring masks to be worn for public health safety in all county buildings.

The Town of Ridgway currently has no mask rules.

The City of Ouray is not requiring masks but strongly encourages them.

Travel for outdoor recreation within the state of Colorado and outside of your community is safest if individuals can:

  • Maintain 6 feet of distance
  • Wear a mask when in public
  • Gather in groups of less than 10 people
  • Stay home if you are sick
