COVID-19 Resources & Visitor Information

Last updated: May 11, 2022

Colorado has been experiencing an increasing number of COVID-19 cases over the past few weeks. Perhaps due to increased travel, cases are on the rise. However, no new public health policies or restrictions have been implemented. Masking remains optional and gathering sizes are not being limited.

Because there is always a potential for changes in city, county or individual facility rules, the best way to prepare for a visit is to check out the information resources in the right margin of this page. We also recommend you visit individual websites for each business and organization where you plan to visit. In some cases, a phone call may be the most effective way to get updated information such as operating hours and mask requirements.

Traveling to Ridgway

5 steps for responsible travel infographic

Ridgway businesses and surrounding outdoor recreation opportunities are open. However, visitors are strongly urged to adhere to state, county and town guidelines to keep our community safe.

Ouray County and the Town of Ridgway lifted their mask mandates in their government buildings on March 8 and 9.

While masks are not required to be worn in public by local governments, some businesses may request mask wearing and some individuals may choose to wear masks for personal reasons. Please respect their decisions.

Ouray County is a mask friendly community!

Travel within the state of Colorado and outside of your community is safest if individuals can:

  • Stay home if you are sick

  • Wash hands frequently with antibacterial soap

  • Avoid large crowds where distancing is not possible, especially indoors

  • Maintain 6 feet of distance between yourself and others

Additional details about Ouray County requirements, testing, vaccinations, and other updates are provided on the Ouray County website: as well as Ouray County Public Health Facebook page:

Please utilize the Ouray County COVID-19 Hotline with questions: 970-626-5484.
