Ouray County Historical Society & Museum

420 6th Avenue, Ouray, CO 81427

The Ouray County Historical Society is dedicated to preserve, protect, procure, exhibit and interpret whatever relates to the natural, social and cultural history of Ouray County and the adjoining San Juan Mountain region of Colorado.

Our Museum is housed in the original St. Joseph's Miners' Hospital that was built in 1886, which was originally operated by the Sisters of Mercy. Today the Museum is home to thousands of artifacts that reflect Ouray's past.]
