Curated especially for ages 9 and up (grown-ups welcome, too!), this 65-minute lineup highlights a wide range of LGBTQ+ identities and experiences from around the world, told through inventive animation, heartfelt live action, and documentary storytelling. From schoolyard matchmaking to finding strength in cultural heritage, these award-winning and audience-favorite shorts spotlight the importance of embracing who you are and honoring those who came before you. It’s a celebration of love, legacy, and living your truth—with humor, heart, and humanity. Where do these films come from? Each year, the Oscar®-qualifying NYICFF curates a global selection of the most exciting new films for kids and families. After the annual festival, NYICFF takes the best of the best on tour—bringing stories that inspire, educate, and entertain to venues across the country.
