We sat down with the Regional Manager, Jon Elliot, of Aspen Savatree.
How did Aspen Savatree come to Ridgway?
Originally founded as Aspen Tree Services in 1982, the company slowly expanded throughout Colorado over the decades. In 2019, Aspen purchased Alpine Arborist, a Telluride tree service company, and established a shop location in Ridgway. They reached out to me and asked me to manage the operations for the shop's region in 2020.
Recently, we grew even more and relocated our shop to the former Schoonover's location (Campbell Lane).
When did Savatree come into the picture?
After four decades of being Aspen Tree Services, the company merged with Savatree in December 2022. All of the principals stayed on and the company was renamed to Aspen Savatree.
What services does Aspen Savatree provide?
A wide range of tree service care. We are accredited by the Tree Care Industry Association (TCIA) and currently has four ISA-certified arborists. Our services include but are not limited to:
- Pruning and removal
- Tree planting
- Plant health care (pest and disease control, soil health, and tree protection)
- Tree consulting
Any transitions this fall for Aspen Savatree?
This fall season will have momentum. Four of our current team members will become ISA-certified arborists, which will bring us to a total of eight ISA-certified arborists. We will continue with our Wednesday safety meetings and daily morning stretches, a routine that separates us from other tree service companies.
