David Nunn elected to Ridgway Chamber Board
Nunn is a longtime marketing and sales professional, and is well known for frequent guitar performances at venues from Montrose to Telluride.
“I hope to bring my 30 years of marketing knowledge to the Ridgway Chamber with a local, regional and national perspective. Continuing to define and refine Ridgway’s unique value proposition as a destination offers a tremendous opportunity to compete effectively with other destinations and attract desirable revenue to the area,” Nunn said.
The Chamber Board is comprised of a mix of professionals from different business sectors. Each member also has interests and expertise in one or more of the five Ridgway tourism themes: Outdoor Adventure, Culinary Experiences, Arts & Entertainment, Health & Wellness, and History & Heritage.
The Chamber has been renovating the Ridgway Visitor Center this spring, including the addition of a new meeting space for members. The Center, located on Sherman Street west of the intersection of highways 550 and 62, will reopen with limited hours starting Memorial Day weekend, to provide information to travelers.
New board member Nunn is an 18-year resident of Ridgway, who is preparing for the launch of a new community-based “Ridgway Ouray Friends & Neighbors” magazine. He previously worked for the largest direct marketing company in the United States, and has worked since 2003 at one of the nation’s largest print-promo companies, where he earned the Innovator of the Year award.
With more than 300 gigs over the three years before COVID-19 hit, Nunn performs covers and originals solo and with other local musicians. His vast set list of over 700 tunes includes a soulful mix of Delta blues, Appalachian bluegrass and classic rock. This summer, he can be seen and heard several times a month at local venues including the Sky Bar in Chipeta Solar Springs Resort, Ouray KOA, and Ridgway Lodge & Suites.
The Ridgway Area Chamber of Commerce promotes business and community growth and development in the Town of Ridgway and the surrounding area. The chamber manages the town’s tourism website, markets local businesses through many channels, operates the Ridgway Visitors Center, and promotes responsible, sustainable tourism.
