Double G Ranch & Guest Lodge Named June 2021 RACC Member of the Month

Please tell us a little about the background of Double G’s owners.

Sandra and Frank Gouder came from Germany in 2018 to live their dream of running a luxurious, boutique-style bed and breakfast and a horse ranch, training mustangs captured from the wilderness. In Germany, Sandra was a CPA and horse trainer but her true passions are horses and cooking. Frank was CEO, founder and co-owner of a big fashion company.

How did you end up starting your business in Ridgway?

After travelling 10,000 miles through the U.S., a friend living in Basalt introduced us to Colorado – it was love at first sight. We chose Ridgway because for us it’s the most beautiful and best place to live our dream and create a unique, five-star experience for our guests coming from all parts of the U.S.

Double G Ranch & Guest Lodge offers four amazing and nicely decorated suites and rooms designed to deliver a five-star guest experience. Every single detail is decorated with love and passion. With the rooms, we offer the best breakfast you could imagine in a German-American fusion style, prepared fresh for each guest with natural and organic ingredients. The views of the San Juans, the Cimarrons and Grand Mesa are stunning and our guests can enjoy the amazing views from our rooms and the spacious deck.

What are your goals for your customers’ stays and experiences?

Just the best for our guests! We do not sell just stays in beautiful rooms, but a whole overall five-star experience with the highest level of hospitality. We are here for our guests 24/7 and want to spoil and treat them like kings. Our goal is to be the best B&B on the Western Slope of Colorado. Our guests honor this with great reviews on Tripadvisor, Booking.com, Google, and Airbnb.

What do customers say they enjoy most about their visits to Double G?

Besides the great views and very comfortable rooms, our guests like most of our first-class service in a casual and laidback atmosphere, always with a big smile on our faces. Our customers arrive as guests and leave as friends!

What’s new at Double G this summer?

From this summer season, we offer our famous, delicious breakfast outside on our spacious deck as well as inside. What could be better than starting the day outdoors with a fresh brewed coffee, cappuccino or tea  and a German-American breakfast prepared fresh for each guest with natural and organic ingredients.

Double G is offering a special 10% discount to all guests who book a stay of two nights or more in June 2021 (subject to availability), when they mention the “Ridgway Chamber Member of the Month promotion.”

What do you value from being a Ridgway Chamber member?

The Ridgway Area Chamber of Commerce created a great network of local businesses and entrepreneurs and is supporting our businesses very well. When COVID-19 has been contained, we would love to have a roundtable of the members of the chamber once a month and would love to be the hosts of such a meeting in fall 2021.
