The Ridgway Area Chamber of Commerce recently sat down with husband and wife duo Ian and Sarah McCormick to discuss their professional contractor business McDevCo, LLC and to learn more about their business and commitment to professionalism.
Could you please tell us a bit about yourselves such as where are you from, and what brought you to Ridgway?
Sarah: We moved to the Western Slope area from the Front Range in 2019. Ian initially came out for a business meeting that unexpectedly turned into a job interview with a local contractor. Knowing he and I loved the area, having had family over in the Cimarron area, he took the job and we moved out here within that month. We were blessed with the opportunity to rent before we decided to pull the trigger and purchase property. We now are lucky enough to call Log Hill home with our two dogs, two horses, three burros, two cats, and many chickens.
How long have you been in business? How many projects are you currently undertaking?
Ian: We officially started McDevCo in March 2021, so we’ve been in business for four years now. Right now we have three projects in progress.
What inspired you to start McDevCo?
Sarah: We saw a real need for a more collaborative and transparent general contracting experience. Both of us having professional backgrounds in construction management and customer service helped us with the decision to start our own company.
At McDevCo, we prioritize transparency and communication, making sure our clients know exactly what they are getting, how much they are paying, and that their project is being done right. We aim to bring a new level of professionalism to the area while focusing on quality and cost control.
What would you like people to know about McDevCo?
Ian: McDevCo handles everything from start to finish—breaking ground to handing over the keys. We’re a full turnkey general contractor. We can help connect our clients with local designers and resources to ensure their vision comes to life and they get the product they are looking for.
What do you love most about living in the Ridgway area?
Sarah: We love the location! We can get to Ridgway in 30 minutes, Montrose in 30 minutes, and Telluride in about an hour. The access to outdoor adventure is unbeatable, and we really appreciate the small, tight-knit community.
Any final thoughts?
Ian: We’re just grateful to be part of this incredible community. Ridgway has been a great place for us both personally and professionally. We’re excited to continue growing and helping more people build thier dream homes here and in the surrounding area.
