Tell me the story of Hotel Palomino.
It’s funny because we didn’t set out to initially open a hotel. We purchased the old trail town commercial complex and simply started by upcyling and restoring the elements that gave the buildings their distinctive old west charm. As we started to bring new life back to the property, we very quickly reimagined it as a unique hotel experience. From start to finish it was 12 months to operation.

12 individually curated rooms, with Unique modern-western interiors, antiques, bespoke wallpaper, and thoughtful details from the region’s rich ranching history adorn each room. We offer contactless check in.
What separates your hotel from the others?
Hotel Palomino offers a historically relevant western theme, with modern interiors at an approachable price point. We’ve been able leverage technology and pair down services that most guests don’t need, or want to pay for. There’s not a front desk in sight, it’s the wild west of hospitality.
How is business going for you since the opening?
We opened in September, during the peak of autumn travel so we dove in head first an were mostly booked through mid October. Off season allowed us to fine-tun the operation and guest experience after opening, and now we are steadily becoming more busy with winter travelers and the opening of Greenwood’s Restaurant and Bar next door.
