Gardeners and anyone with an interest in growing their own food should make a stop at the Ridgway Seed Library, a resource available to all who would like to contribute to the seed diversity within our growing region. The local seed library is a free seed project, with a mission to support all who wish to plant seeds, grow food, and try their best at saving seed that has been grown within our bio region. The library curators educate, support and encourage the development of seed diversity for all, wishing to cultivate a culture of learning and sharing.
Not only does the library offer free seed, but it also offers seed-saving classes and seed swaps. Local seed savers like Paula Marlatt and Yvette Hensen share their knowledge and encourage gardeners to preserve their seeds. The swaps are also a great way to network and learn from others who attend.
The Ridgway Seed Library is located inside the Ridgway Public Library at 300 Charles St., Ridgway, Colorado, CO 81432, next to the fire station. For information, call 970.626.5252
