Frontier Park & Pavilion

Frontier Park is a great amenity not only for the community and local schools, but also for visitors looking for a place to play frisbee, toss a ball around, picnic, or enjoy other activities on the grassy fields. At night, it's also a great place to view the night skies, explore constellations and enjoy an outstanding view of the Milky Way. Since the park is surrounded by homes, please be respectful and keep noise down, especially in the evenings.

In addition to soccer fields, the park has a skate park, tennis courts, multipurpose court for basketball and pickleball, and a gazebo. A bike park is planned in the future.

An anonymous donor approached the Town of Ridgway in early 2019 to build a pavilion at the Solar Ranch Athletic Fields, now called Frontier Park. After fundraising, a community design process, and construction in the summer of 2020, the beautiful pavilion opened to the public at the end of 2020. Now, groups can enjoy shade and shelter in the pavilion with some of the most spectacular views in the valley! The pavilion can be accessed from Chipeta Drive, by walking south on the path near the gazebo and tennis courts or by driving along Ouray County Road 23. To plan a gathering at the pavilion, call Town Hall at 970-626-5308.
