County Road 5 Gravel Grinding/Miller Mesa Recreation Trail Mountain Biking

Start this route with outstanding high-alpine scenery at the intersection of Ouray County Road (CR) 5 and Aspen Drive, where public parking is located.

  • Distance: 7.5 miles roundtrip
  • Duration: 2 to 3 hours
  • Elevation: 8,800 to 9,500 feet
  • Difficulty: Moderate

You can gravel grind up CR5 or mountain bike on the new Miller Mesa Recreation Trail into the Uncompahgre National Forest. The route starts surrounded by private property but soon travels into public lands, going from Ponderosa to Aspen forests.

The Ridgway Area Chamber of Commerce promotes business and community development in the Town of Ridgway and the surrounding area. The Ridgway Visitor Center, located at 150 Racecourse Road, Ridgway, Colorado 81432 (across from Citizens Bank off of HWY 62), The visitor center is closed as of October 1st and will reopen Memorial Day weekend.
