The 2018 Annual Report from the Ridgway Area Chamber of Commerce is 17 pages packed with accomplishments in promoting business and tourism over the past year, with leads on what is coming up in 2019. Last year, the Chamber continued improving marketing resources and member benefits that were updated or established in 2017.
The Ridgway Area Chamber of Commerce (RACC) and the Ouray Tourism Office (OTO) are pleased to announce their recent award of a $10,000 marketing grant from the Colorado Tourism Office to promote countywide, off-peak season visitation and tourism-driven economic opportunities. Ridgway and Ouray recognize that summer tourism visitation is at or near maximum capacity. In contrast, local businesses struggle to keep a consistent cash flow during the shoulder seasons of October through April.
Elizabeth Mueller, who will be in 12th grade at the Ridgway Secondary School in fall 2018, was appointed as the Ridgway Area Chamber of Commerce’s first youth ambassador in fall 2017. Among her duties, she wrote the welcome letter in the 2018 Ridgway Visitors Guide (see page 2), posts as #ridgwaythroughyoungeyes on the chamber’s Instragram page (ridgwaycolorado), and represents youth at chamber events.
The Ridgway Area Chamber of Commerce promotes business and community development in the Town of Ridgway and the surrounding area. The chamber operates the Visitors Center, which is open from May 1 through October 1 and is located at 150 Racecourse Road, Ridgway, Colorado 81432 (across from Citizens Bank off of HWY 62).
